Paving is the last thing to go down and the first thing an owner judges, and it only goes well if the subgrade and base underneath it were built right. SDC coordinates the complete pavement section — stabilized subgrade, limerock base, asphalt, curb, flatwork and markings — with our own crews self-performing the earthwork, utility, subgrade and base work underneath it on the same sites.
Recent paving quantities include 85,000 SY on a 648-home Osceola County community, 60,000 SY of base and asphalt at the Universal Stella Nova and Terra Luna resort sites, 28,100 SY on an Osceola County K-8 school site and 20,000 SY through the Marsh Road widening corridor in Winter Garden.

How We Work
1. Section and quantity review
We take off the pavement section from the plans and geotechnical report, confirm stabilization requirements and price base, asphalt, flatwork and markings.
2. Subgrade and proof-rolling
Grade, stabilization and density testing are confirmed before base is placed, so the section is built on a surface that passes.
3. Base and asphalt
Limerock base and asphalt lifts are placed and compacted with testing as specified, phased around traffic and ongoing construction.
4. Flatwork, markings and closeout
Curb, sidewalk, striping, signage and restoration, with the documentation needed for acceptance.
