Earthwork sets the schedule for everything that follows on a site. SDC self-performs clearing, mass excavation, embankment, grading and subgrade stabilization across Central Florida, so pads, ponds and roadway subgrade are built to the engineer's design without waiting on another contractor's crew.
Our modern heavy equipment fleet includes GPS-controlled dozers, excavators and motor graders, and SDC survey crews control layout and grade on our own work. We operate from Oviedo throughout the Orlando area and the surrounding Central Florida counties.

Mass excavation and embankment
Cut-and-fill earthmoving, embankment placement and compaction, and pond excavation — including projects with more than 11,000 cubic yards of excavation.

How We Work
1. Quantity takeoff and estimate
We review the grading plan and geotechnical report, take off cut-and-fill quantities and return a proposal with the earthwork assumptions stated.
2. Model and layout
Survey and machine-control models are built from the engineer's design so equipment grades to the same surface the plans show.
3. Earthmoving
Clearing, excavation, embankment and compaction are sequenced with drainage and utility work, with density testing as specified.
4. Finish grade and handoff
Fine grading, stabilization and as-built documentation before base, paving or vertical construction begins.
